CoastVPN connects from mainland China

Most VPNs stop working the moment you cross into mainland China. CoastVPN is built not to.

Why ordinary VPNs fail there

The firewall on the mainland uses deep packet inspection at national scale. It knows what a common VPN handshake looks like and blocks it — sometimes within minutes of a server coming online. Plain, unobfuscated tunnels get throttled, reset, or blackholed.

Built for censored networks

CoastVPN's tunnels are obfuscated by design:

  • Traffic masking. Your VPN traffic is disguised so that it does not match the fingerprints censors look for. There is no obvious "VPN signature" to block.
  • Resilient under bad conditions. The tunnel is designed to stay usable on lossy, high-latency, and congested international links — exactly what cross-border connections look like at peak hours.
  • Two regions. us-east and us-west. If one route degrades, switch regions in the app and keep moving.
  • Fast where it matters. The same masking keeps the tunnel efficient, so video calls, streaming, and downloads stay smooth even across the Pacific.

Practical notes

  • If a connection ever degrades, reconnect, or switch server regions from the app.
  • Censorship adapts, and so do we. Updates ship when the network changes — no guessing games.
  • If anything does not work, contact support and we will look at it right away.
